In collaboration with URI - College of Health Sciences and The Friends of Jamestown Seniors, The Jamestown Philomenian Library will host Cyber Seniors once again. This popular program is in its third year and we would like those wishing to participate to be aware of some new guidelines.
Three sessions are available on Tuesday mornings 10 a.m., 11 a.m. & 12 noon
Sign-up will be at the Senior Center
Sessions are limited to 50 min. each
Jamestown Seniors are encouraged to sign-up and commit to at least 3 one-hour sessions. The reasons for this commitment are:
1. It gives the student/mentor a chance to get to know the senior. This is important for their learning-- as all of the student/mentors are obtaining credit for this experience related to the field of gerontology.
2. The student/mentor actually sees progression in learning for the senior, and the senior is able to practice their new skills a lot more with the student/mentor.
3. The student/mentor and senior establish a relationship that usually fosters a willingness participate more fully in the pre/post surveys this helps us with our research - without which we would not be able to offer this program.
